Yumboldt

The indica cannabis strain Yumboldt is extremely potent, winning 2001’s High Times Cannabis Cup in the indica category. Its buds smell and taste as sweet as candy – thus its name, but can often have earthy, woody undertones as well. Parents of Yumboldt are landrace strains that both come from Humboldt County in California (landrace strains that were first brought to America from Afghanistan).

Yumboldt’s THC levels average at 14% and can reach up to 20%. Its high is known to be highly sedative, with many consumers reporting their chronic pain being alleviated as well. Growers should note Yumboldt is best grown indoors and rarely tops a meter in height.
