Scan Arizona's best-selling eighths and it's dessert cross after dessert cross — cakes, candies, markers, burgers. Then there's BK Satellite, the one jar in the ten built for daylight. It's Alien Labs' sativa-leaning cross of Legend of Nigeria onto Milky Way, and it's moved north of $160K in the state at a $43 average without a hint of couch-lock in its pitch.

Alien Labs is Ted Lidie's operation — a multi-generational legacy grower out of Redding who built the brand's name on rare exotics before legalization, then teamed up with Connected Cannabis to scale it without watering it down. The pair landed in Arizona in November 2020, growing out of Connected's Phoenix indoor facility, and announced themselves by sweeping first place in every flower category plus pre-rolls at the 2021 Arizona Cannabis Cup. The lines out the door at those early drops have since settled into something steadier: the brand sits on roughly nine out of ten tracked menus in the state.

The cross does something most modern menus have forgotten how to do — it leads with terpinolene. Legend of Nigeria brings old-school African sativa energy, Milky Way brings the frost and structure, and the finished flower opens on bright lemon zest over earthy pine before smoothing into creamy citrus and a genuinely cooling mint exhale with a little spice on the tail. Dense, sticky, dark green buds shot through with copper hairs — it looks indica and smokes the opposite.

Current Arizona batches are testing 26 to 28.5%, and the effect is the whole reason to pick this jar over its shelf-mates: a fast cerebral lift into a relaxed body that never tips into sedation. It's the eighth for a hike, a project, or a morning where you want to be high and still be a functioning person — a lane the rest of the top ten simply doesn't drive in.

Better than forty Arizona shops currently have the eighth on the shelf, from Sticky Saguaro in Chandler across the Trulieve and Curaleaf footprints, generally between $40 and $52. And if the shelf is out, its stablemate Biskanté — Alien Labs' other Arizona top-ten resident — is usually sitting right next to the gap. Not bad for the weirdest brand name in the state's ten biggest jars.

The verdict

A true sativa-leaning cut holding its own in a top ten full of dessert gas — bright lemon and pine over a cooling mint exhale, testing 26 to 28.5% on current Arizona batches, from a brand that swept every flower category at the state's first Cannabis Cup.
