The Toad Map: everywhere Toad Venom is in stock right now

Last week we noticed "Toad" and "Toad Venom" showing up on dispensary menus in a dozen-plus states and wrote about the naming trend. This is the follow-up: where the genetic actually came from, and a live map of every shop we can confirm has it in stock.

The seed cross was bred by Ronin Seeds, a Los Angeles breeder, by crossing Animal Face (Seed Junky Genetics) with Sin Mintz (Sin Mint Cookies × Zkittlez). Green Dragon — the North Hollywood nursery, farm, and shop that's operated since 2007 — popped all 30 seeds from that cross in 2021 and picked a single standout plant. Co-owner Glen S. and his team called it "Becky" internally before the Toad Venom name took over. Green Dragon now grows roughly 750 pounds of it every three months and moves most of that through KSS Distribution, an Oakland-based distributor, into around 100 California dispensaries — which is a big part of why California alone accounts for over 200 of the pins on this map.

From there it spread the way strong genetics usually do in this industry: through clones, not contracts. Dozens of unrelated cultivators — Pro Gro in Michigan, Crystal Clear and CAM in California, Seed Junky, Panda in Oklahoma, Select up and down the East Coast, TYSON 2.0 (Mike Tyson's brand, concentrated in Arizona, Washington, Ohio, New York, and Michigan) — are all now growing the same cut with no formal relationship to Green Dragon or Ronin Seeds. Most list it as Toad Venom; TYSON 2.0 shortens it to just "Toad" on the menu, but it's the same phenotype, and the same wink at the 5-MeO-DMT toad venom Tyson has talked about publicly for years.

The map below is a snapshot, not a live feed — dispensary stock turns over daily, and a pin that's green today can be sold out tomorrow. We'll refresh it and reissue this as a recurring feature: each installment tracks a different strain, brand, or product that's breaking out nationally, with the receipts to back up the hype.
